What Does ShiZwm Mean? The Story Behind Our Name
Every brand begins with a story.
For us, that story begins with a word from home.
ShiZwm means “Apparel” in Bodo.
It is a word rooted in our language, our community and our connection to Northeast India. And while it may be unfamiliar to many people discovering us for the first time, that is exactly what makes the name meaningful to us.
More Than a Name
We believe clothing is more than something we wear.
What we choose to wear can express our personality, our mood, our memories and even where we come from.

A T-shirt can remind you of a place.
A pattern can carry a piece of culture.

That is the idea behind ShiZwm.
We wanted to create a brand that could bring together fashion, creativity and stories while staying connected to the place that inspired us.
Why Did We Choose a Bodo Word?
We could have chosen a name that sounded familiar or immediately explained what the brand was.
Instead, we chose something that meant something to us.
ShiZwm Is a Small Piece of Home
ShiZwm is a small piece of home.
It represents our roots while giving us the opportunity to introduce those roots to people who may have never encountered the Bodo language or culture before.
And that conversation begins with a simple question:
“What does ShiZwm mean?”
We like that question.
Because every time someone asks it, we get to tell our story.

ShiZwm is inspired by Northeast India — its landscapes, traditions, nature, craftsmanship and everyday life.
But ShiZwm isn't intended only for people from our community.
