Our Story

We come from a place where nature is not just something we see.

It is something we grow up with.

The green hills, the rivers, the forests, the colours, the people, the traditions — they have always been a part of who we are.

We call Bodoland home.

And somewhere along the way, we started asking ourselves a simple question:

Why can't the stories we grew up with become something the world gets to experience too?

That question became the beginning of The ShiZwm Co.

It started with a dream.

We didn't have everything figured out when we started.

We didn't have a big team or a perfect roadmap.

We simply had an idea, a lot of conversations, countless doubts, and the courage to give it a try.

We wanted to build something that felt close to us.

Something that could bring together our love for culture, creativity and modern fashion.

Something that could represent where we come from without being limited by where we come from.

We wanted our roots to travel.

Growing up in Bodoland, we have always been surrounded by stories.

Stories in our textiles.

Stories in our patterns.

Stories in our traditions.

Stories in the things that may seem ordinary to us, but can be extraordinary to someone seeing them for the first time.

We realised that these stories don't have to stay within our communities.

They can travel.

They can evolve.

They can find a place in contemporary design.

And they can be worn with pride.

That's what we want The ShiZwm Co. to be about.

Taking inspiration from where we come from and giving it a new expression.

Starting a business from a place like Bodoland comes with its own challenges.

There are days when things move slowly.

Days when an idea doesn't work.

Days when we question whether we're doing the right thing.

But there are also those moments when something finally comes together — a design we love, a product we're proud of, or someone discovering our story for the first time.

Those moments make it worth continuing.

We've learned that you don't need to come from the biggest city to dream big.

You don't need to leave your roots behind to build something meaningful.

Sometimes, your roots are your greatest strength.

We're building this together.

The ShiZwm Co. is our shared dream.

Some days we're talking about designs.

Some days we're figuring out business.

Some days we're solving problems we never knew existed.

And sometimes, we're simply trying to convince each other that the crazy idea we just had might actually work.

It's not always perfect.

But it's ours.

And we're learning every step of the way.

Where we want to go.

Our vision goes beyond creating clothes.

We want to create something that connects culture, design and people.

We want to bring more attention to the beauty and creativity that exists in the Northeast.

We want to build from our home, create opportunities around us, and show that meaningful brands can come from places that don't usually get the spotlight.

Most importantly, we want to create something that we can look back on someday and say:

We started with very little, but we never stopped believing in the idea.
